As an artist I enjoy working with all types of subject matter, but especially love creating portraits of people and animals. Knowing that a good quality drawing or painting of a loved one means so much to a client ensures that I put every effort and detail into producing a commission which will bring them lots of joy. I think it is important for me to talk to the client about the portrait and find out who it is for, where it will be placed once finished and the story behind the image. I can work from multiple photos if needed e.g. my step father passed away recently, and for Christmas I wanted to create a painting in his memory so I combined an image of him walking with my children in the summer and then converted it to show him walking with them in the snow. Every year in his memory we will look at that painting and think of him. I also used this painting to make printed Christmas cards to send to loved ones.

My portfolio includes creating drawings and paintings for people’s anniversaries, weddings, birthdays and many other special occasions.  It doesn’t have to be a big event that I paint for clients e.g. I created a watercolour of my daughter collecting shells from the beach. The image of her bare feet on the beach, with her engrossed in collecting shells is a memory I want to treasure. A painting can capture special memories and can be passed down to family or friends for generations. I always use high quality materials so the work can last for many years. This makes the drawing or painting the perfect bespoke, and sentimental present to give to someone.

Portrait paintings start at £150 and other paintings start at £80.00 depending on the size and choice of medium. I also use a high-quality framer who will frame your work, or you can arrange this yourself. You would need to provide me with clear photos with good light and dark contrast, ideally with the eyes in focus as I love to draw the eyes in detail. Should you have photos that are not as clear, still get in touch and I will see if I can work from them.
