Welcome to Vicki Gorman Art Classes

I love to share my passion for drawing and painting and have taught Art for over twenty years. People of all abilities are welcome to my classes which are inspiring, creative and friendly. I teach a variety of media including pencil, pastels, pen and watercolour wash, acrylic and gouache. Each lesson begins with a demonstration of the techniques I have planned for you to try, followed by assistance on a one- to- one basis. I know how producing Art can be beneficial to a person’s physical and mental well-being, I love to see you gain confidence, relax and meet new friends. My aim is to help you recognise which subjects and materials you love to work with, allowing you to gain confidence in your individual style and create Art that you are proud of.  Read More About Me

About the Classes

My Art classes are held weekly during school term times and each lesson lasts two hours. Every two weeks I set a new project where we tackle a variety of subject matter. As a class we explore different techniques, styles, or methods of producing art, using a range of media. Throughout these lessons you will be fully supported with the best advice, you may also work on your own projects if preferred.

The groups I teach are friendly, sociable, and have fun, so I am certain you will make new friends. We have also developed an outdoor painting group who meet during the holidays when the classes are not running. There are yearly exhibitions where we celebrate our achievements. Some of my students have started selling their art and have started their own business. Once you join my Art classes you get priority booking each term to secure your place each year. You can never stop learning with Art so be prepared to get hooked.

Online Zoom Classes for Adults and Teenagers (with recordings)

These are stage by stage lessons I teach online on alternate Monday afternoons. This is an in-depth approach where I guide individuals through the painting process. Duration is up to two hours. These recordings, when downloaded, can be retrieved and worked on at your own pace and in your own time. This is a great option for those who work, teenagers who attend school or people who can’t attend set lesson times. Teenagers who want to develop their skills and confidence ready for their GCSES, or to build a portfolio for college have found the Art Zoom recordings really informative and helpful.

 Even from home we still all paint together so you can experience the encouragement and communication with one another as an artistic community. I am happy to view your paintings via email or WhatsApp to offer you feedback and encouragement.
